The predominant emotion of this song is angst. It’s about suppressed feelings, about repressed emotions, about palpable anxiety and a sense of doom that will not be quashed. All these mixed emotions find an outlet through this powerful number.
Amit’s desire to create this song stemmed from a personal experience in his past that had him feeling helpless. He has attempted to translate that overpowering sense of vulnerability through this song. Musically the song is riff-driven to underscore the angst.

Beparwaah , bewajaah , bezubaan khauf ghoomey … Ghoomey .. Ghoomey lakhh vaari
Sarhdein pareshan , bewajaah , tutey sapney apney sapney har baari , har baari
Badmaashi baari baari , baaram baari
Na dar bighdhey , na ghar ujdhey , na shamshiron ki ho taiyaari .. Baari baari
Na akhh roye , koi moye na chain-o-aman ki zimmeydaari … Baari baari
— badmaashi baari baari , baaram baari
Sholon ki shakhon pe kaisey baashindey ghar banaayein
Hui dhuaan dhuaan hawaayein …… Bhaaye na bhaaye rey
Gaalon pe masumo ke phiki hansi nazar na aaye
Rasta bhool gayi aashaein …. Aaye na aaye re
Baari baari …. Junoo taari
Context:
Poet is painting a picture of what it is to have constant unrest caused by tension between two
nations and how it affects the innocent populace.
Meaning:
The constant skirmishes at the borders, which are often mindless and unnecessary, cause
so much pain and heartbreak to innocents. The Poet hopes that this ends, hence ending the
trail of death and destruction, that has left so many homes shattered, and wrecked so many
families. If the tensions are sorted, there will be no need for so much security around the
borders and the futile preparation for war. Peace will automatically prevail in both nations.
Or else, it will be impossible for people to live and thrive in these places.
Unfortunately, the battles have been so long drawn that sadness and fear have taken away
the smiles off the faces of the innocent, and now they live in an environment of hopelessness
and face an unpredictable future.
Let peace prevail…
